60年代に活動したあの奇怪な音楽を奏でる集団Intersystemsの一員であったJohn Mills-Cockellが、ユニット解散後の1970年から1972年まで率いたカナダの電子音楽グループSyrinx。1970年発表の1st LP[Syrinx]、1971年発表の2nd[Long Lost Relatives]、更に同時期のシングル盤[Tillicum]を纏め、且つ未発表音源までも追加してしまった完璧な集成。変則的メロディーやら不協和な要素がランダムに至る所で登場する、程良くアヴァンな実験チェンバーポップ。24ページのブックレットが付属する美しい作りのパッケージ。

Formed by composer John Mills-Cockell after the dissolution of Intersystems, Syrinx’s two adventurous albums, Syrinx and Long Lost Relatives, endorsed the poetic potential of the avant-garde, subverting a turn of the ‘60s trend toward technological pageantry.
