Label: Empreintes DIGITALes
One theme runs through these seven compositions: the stroll. There is a piece dedicated to Folkmar Hein that evokes his long walks in Berlin and its surroundings [3]. Then there is also a surprising story about the journey through time so marvellously told in Chris Marker’s film “La Jetée” [1]. And I took a delightful stroll through the fertile improvisations of the ensemble Déviation(s), which I tried to map out like uncharted territory [5]. And then there is the fantastical voyage to the edge of the universe that is Stanley Kubrick’s film “2001: A Space Odyssey”, guided by Yves Charuest’s saxophone [2]. And let’s not forget a quiet wandering around Debussy’s reveries [6], accompanied by François Couture at the piano, or a friendly incursion into the exploratory music of the dear departed sculptor Oscar Wiggli [7]. Finally, guitarist Patrice Soletti accepted the challenge of sauntering in real time along the rugged paths of a 30-year-old project [4].
