Mika Vainio、Radu Malfatti、Rhodri Davies、Kevin Drumm等、非常に様々な音楽家との共同録音をEditions MegoやAnother Timbre、Mikroton Recordingsといったレーベルに残してきた、主にバスクラリネットとソプラノサックスを操るアルゼンチンのミュージシャンLucio Capece。本作は演奏から離れアナログ機器のみを使いシーケンスの実験にフォーカスしたリズム作[Epimoric Tide]。なにやら数学的なアイデアも導入されているとの事ですが、ミニマムな持続音と小気味良く弾け飛ぶグリッチビートの連なりが非常にクール且つ心地良い。Entr'acteとSTELLAGEによる共同出版物。



My initial goal making this pieces was to get the sensation of irregularity in rhythm but coming as the consequence of the combination of two very basic structures. I tried to have that feeling overlapping sequences that are actually as simple as possible, but still interesting to me. In a natural way, and as a consequence of this, just showed up somehow global sonorities played with electronic devices. A similar experience happened afterwards in the development of the piece when i added to the main general concept a few psychoacoustic sound illusions. The analog electronics set up ( Sequencer, Analog synth, Equalisers in feedback, Delay, Ring Modulator, Filter) is joined in the piece by a slide saxophone that offers sustained tones, retained and eventually slightly processed. The name of the piece comes from a ratio that is also called Superparticular, that is just the ratio of two consecutive integer numbers. One containing the other plus one. This very basic ratio gives me the idea of movement, of combination in movement that happens in it´s most immediate way. It made me imagine the space that happens in a tide between the point reached by a new step given by water towards the continent, and the place where it previously was. An existing place actually, but that is impossible to perceive as such, because all is in permanent movement, and interaction.
