アフリカ南西部に位置し、大西洋の海岸線沿いに広がるナミブ砂漠で有名な国ナミビア。現在存在している世界で最も古い砂漠がこのナミブ砂漠と言われており、本作は現地の狩猟採集民ブッシュマンに関する録音を纏めたもの。音楽を中心に展開するコミュニティライフは多くの自作楽器で溢れており、錆びた一斗缶、切り株に枝を差込み弦を張ったものや、奇怪な形状をした一弦楽器、独特のポリフォニーまで、本当に新鮮且つプリミティブな音色ばかりが飛び出します。

Community life of the Ju'hoansi Bushmen, with their great hunting rituals, initiatory or healing rites, revolves around music. Their pluriarcs (with one or several strings, with or without a resonator), zither and lamellophone also accompany games and occupy moments of leisure, entertainment and intimacy.
