First release of the conceptual and performative pieces by German sound sculptor and installation artist Christina Kubisch, composed and realised between 1974-1984 during her years in Italy. Extraordinary experimental works, in particular "Liquid Piece" (flute, contact microphone and 100 glasses of water), and "Identikit" (five piano players at one grand piano, five cassette tapes and headphones). Other pieces utilise: custom made electronics, radio signals, electromagnetic objects, tape delay, flute, voice, field recordings, whistles, drums and more. Christina Kubisch's work displays an artistic development which is often described as the "synthesis of arts" - the discovery of acoustic space and the dimension of time in the visual arts on the one hand, and a new relationship between material and form in music on the other. Some of you will be familiar with Kubisch for her outdoor installation at "Sonic Boom" festival, Hayward Gallery in 2000. Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel, DVD-sized digipak, illustrated with archival photos of Kubisch with extensive programme notes in English.
