2023年5月20日、奈良のlistudeにて開催したイベント『聴くことのアレゴリー』。本イベントにて公開録音された米子匡司氏のライブ・パフォーマンスの音源をimmeasurableよりCDとハイレゾレーション・データでリリースいたします。

今回リリースする作品は、『聴くことのアレゴリー』の第三部で行われた米子氏のライブ・パフォーマンス(公開録音)の音源です。
これまでに非楽器から生じる音にフォーカスした作品や日常空間で意識されることが稀な現象などを音へ還元するパフォーマンスを手掛けてた米子氏。
オーディオ機器の製造・開発を手掛けるlistudeのショールームは小規模ながら「質の高い音響環境」を目指し、電源環境や場所固有の響きに注意深い設計と徹底した物量を投じることで同規模では最高峰と言える環境が構築された場で米子氏による空間の響きを存分に活かした非楽器と楽器(トロンボーン)を用いたパフォーマンスを行いました。

このパフォーマンスの録音、マスタリングを柳沢英輔氏、ばばまさみ氏が行いました。
柳沢英輔氏、ばばまさみ氏が使用する機材、マスタリング環境は異なりますが、同一のパフォーマンスを録音しています。

柳沢英輔氏による録音とマスタリングが行われたのは1から3トラックで、ばばまさみ氏による録音とマスターリングが行われたのは4から6トラックとなります。

各トラックを聴き比べるみることで、録音芸術における主体と客体、メディウムの差異、記憶と記録、演奏(運動)と空間と聴衆の関係性などについてリスナーの解釈が更に広がることを私たちは願ってやみません。





We are excited to announce the release of a new recording from immeasurable, capturing Tadashi Yonago's live performance at the "Allegories of Listening" event held at listude in Nara on May 20, 2023. This recording will be available as both a CD and a high-resolution digital download.

The "Allegories of Listening" event was organized by immeasurable, the art association focused on exploring medium-specific issues in music and sound. In the first part of the event, Eisuke Yanagisawa, who released "wetland" on immeasurable, Masami Baba, an engineer who worked on Eiki Mori's sound documentary as part of the sound team salad, and Manpei Tsurubayashi of listude, who designs unique polyhedral speakers, discussed their perspectives on "listening."

In the second part of the event, in collaboration with the mobile coffee shop Kinme[ = tea stall Kimme], the audience was invited to relax and listen to the speakers' favorite recordings using the listude speakers.

In the third part, the artist Tadashi Yonago performed a live recording. Yonago has previously created works focusing on sounds produced by non-musical equipments and performances that translate rare phenomena in everyday spaces into sound.

listude's showroom, though small, is designed to provide a high-quality acoustic environment. Through careful attention to the power supply and the unique acoustics of the space, as well as a meticulous attention to detail, listude has created a listening environment that is considered to be one of the best of its size. In this exceptional space, Yonago performed using non-musical equipments and a trombone, taking full advantage of the room's acoustics.

Eisuke Yanagisawa and Masami Baba recorded and mastered the performance. Yanagisawa recorded and mastered tracks 1-3, while Baba recorded and mastered tracks 4-6.

By comparing these tracks, we hope to encourage listeners to explore their own interpretations of the subject and object of recording art, as well as the differences between mediums.
