Beckmannが自身の考えるローカルなアンビエンスを伝えるべく、エクスペリメンタル、アンビエント、環境音、ドローン、ポストロックを織り交ぜたスタイルにて立ち上げた個人プロジェクトThe Volume Settings Folder。一つ一つ異なる手作りのパッケージデザインが美しいセルフシリーズ。程よくノスタルジーなサウンドスケープ、変則な動きが心地良いギター音響、更には気配の様な音像までをやってのける素晴らしい音楽性の持ち主。本作は2013年発表された初期作[Sketches from Afar]の続編として10年後の2023年に制作した[Sketches From Afar II]。ここ一年間で収集したサウンドマテリアルで構成、美しさと実験アプローチが混載する不思議な音風景。毎度の如く美しいデザインのパッケージ。

ten years after the release of Sketches From Afar, I've decided it is now time for a little 10 years celebration, with an album "collected" over the past year that so vividly expresses where my musical journey has arrived and towards what it is headed.

so much has changed since 2013, but actually everything has really stayed the same. my yearning for a sound that evokes nostalgia has only changed form, not its compass.

I thank You all for supporting this project over the past ten years, it really means the world to me.
