待望の2022年プライベート出版作！！学者として多くのアジア音楽を10年以上に渡り調査、自身も倍音歌唱を身に付け音楽ジャンルとしての、また演奏技術としての喉歌の提示に勤しむオランダのボーカルテクニック研究者Mark van Tongeren。以前数種のプライベート音源を紹介しましたが、なんと個人録音としては20年振りになるという超久々のアルバム作品をリリース！！主に長年のライブパフォーマンス記録を纏めたもので、本作では超絶的なボーカルテクニックに加え、口琴、アホウドリの骨、カリンバ、シュルティボックスを用いた美しい倍音演奏も披露。技術及びその視点に只々圧倒される事必至の高内容。画像では分かりにくいですが、通常のCDパッケージより一回り大きい特殊な厚紙を使用した豪華スリーヴ仕様。

Some twenty years after the release of his first and last solo album Paraphony: Extended Harmonic Techniques, Mark van Tongeren returns with a collection of pieces recorded live in the years between. Unlike the first album, which was entirely vocal, Travel to the Moon features mostly instrumental pieces. You can hear many types of Jew’s Harp, albatross bones, an African thumb piano, overtone singing with a shruti box and (as bonus tracks) a piece on the double nose flute from the indigenous Katipul people of Taiwan and a duet with Hans de Back on frame drum.
